Tom Bond

RAPID RIVER — Tom Bond, 60, of 7491 26th Road, Rapid River, died Monday evening, May 12, 2008, at the St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba following a lengthy illness.

Tom was born Oct. 5, 1947, in Lansing, the son of Ray Lane and Patricia Frappier. Tom was raised in East Jordan where he was a graduate of the East Jordan High School.

Tom had resided and worked in several communities in Lower Michigan prior to moving to the U.P. in 1989. Since 2003 he has resided in Rapid River. Tom was most recently employed with Delta Do-It-Center (41 Lumber) where he worked as a small engine mechanic.

Tom loved fishing, rather it was for smallmouth bass or crappies. He always looked forward to spending time on the water with a fishing pole in his hands.

His hobbies included working puzzles, and burning music CD’s of old country western music, and he especially enjoyed Hank Williams.

In addition to his wife of 18 years, Geri Tiernan-Bond, survivors include his son, Tom (Megan) Bond of Marshall, Mich.; daughter, CJ (Steven Latour) Bond of Casco, Mich.; mother, Patricia (Norm) Williams of Three Lakes, Mich.; two brothers, Terry (Kelly) Bond of Mt. Pleasant, and Mike (Sherri) Lane of Howard City, Mich.; two sisters, Deb Collier of Gate City, Mich., and Sharon Ranck of Coleman, Mich.; grandchildren, Caden and Caitlin; numerous nieces and nephews; and former wife, Robin Spencer of Ellsworth, Mich.

He was preceded in death by his father.
