BUCHANAN TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) — Authorities in southwestern Michigan say a man survived being hit by an Amtrak train after walking away from a rollover accident with his car.
State police say the 18-year-old Niles Township resident told troopers that he was walking just after the crash when the train hit him. WOOD-TV (http://bit.ly/1fiaXFm ) says he was taken to South Bend Memorial Hospital in Indiana and was in critical but stable condition.
State police say drinking was a factor in the rollover crash and in the man's encounter with the train.
