This is a great thing. People should thank the officers who keep them safe. The do put their lives on the line every day and they do work long stressful hours to keep everyone safe. Look the City Manager of Gladstone and the commissioners thank their officers by giving them a $0.23/hour raise once per year and they have to fight for that. She also managed to cut their benefits in half at their last contract. They settled years ago for less money per hour so they could have benefits, however, they are being taken away by the City Manager and the Commissioners. However, She gets a nice $500 + car allowance every month on a car she gets to keep. Also, She gets a pretty hefty raise, I believe it was $7,500 annual raise and after the contract settlement for the teamsters (city employees) her wage will be adjusted again. So obviously, they are taking from the employees to give to her. So when she strips them she gets rewarded.
