I suppose swallowing (no pun) an increase in Water Bills would make more sense if the funds were actually used more on water related problems here in the City. This winter was horrible for freezing pipes and mains and such. The City answer was to 'run the water at a pencil stream' and of course the folks effected would have their bills adjusted accordingly. That's great for the water 'in' - but what about the water out?! - As late as a week ago the City was down my alley clearing a blocked ice*****that had sewers backed up. - A lot of the sewers pipes throughout the town are still Clay type and cannot be thawed using electricity - Right now I see water backing up in the drains as last years debris has clogged them, combined with mud and ice to create a terrible situation. MORE money needs to be spent on WATER related costs and not diverted to ROADS.

I predict, as in years past, only the roads that Tourists might see will get the lion's share of funding. I point out the major in and out routes and our treasured Main (Ludington Business Street) - while all but ignoring or merely patching for another year streets in the neighborhoods. For instance, the corner of 12th and 2nd - Drain and street.. Pothole Heaven!
