WE’RE REALLY IN TROUBLE NOW,

if your comment is the height of your intelligence,

but rather it illustrates to anyone with a modicum of intelligence,

your complete lack of understanding of history and the traditional mantra of the GOP.

Further debate is

fruitless and useless with you and your kind.

Yes,

“we’re in trouble now”,

as this thinking is just the top of the iceberg

of ignorance,

of stupidity, and

of moronic thinking.

Truely,

your brain, intellect and lack of intelligence is doing your

pie-hole and the other more intelligent orfice...

a terrible injustice.

The U.P.

for the most part has been at the fringe of anything remotely related

to where business would locate to coax it’s workforce into employment in the U.P.

The U.P. has NEVER been able to employ its high school or college graduates.

The Upper Peninsula has been a place to live for retirees,

but not for anyone to remain and raise a family that has a high school or college education.

The U.P. has exported most all of it’s best and intelligent product,

our children.

The only industry that has a chance of surviving and "bears" need of intense development is

the tourism industry.

People with money to spend, will pack it in, and are willing to leave it anywhere in the U.P.,

as long as we are willing to serve our remoteness to them with comfortable amenities.

They don’t like being uncomfortable.

The Upper Peninsula has the

Natural Resources,

but lack the will of the people and

the chambers of non-commerce

to urge permanent population to see the trees for the forest.

All the “task forces”, non-chambers of commerce, city councils, city commissions and the whole regime and coterie of pinheads

need to look beyond traditional jobs,

develop and market the U.P. has a chance to experience the quiet resources we have so much an abundance of.

TOURISTS will come,

Tourists will bring money

Tourists will make the U.P. green,

if their perceived expectation is

they won’t have to live in

run-down shacks,

run-down motels

irrelevant camping areas,

eat pre-made bags of pre-cooked foods from the likes of

GFS, Reinhart Foods, and SYSCO

served up by boorish staff

Ireland caters to tourists through their stomachs

everything is “scratch” made .

It saddens me to see the jobless rate rise in the U.P., it is such a beautiful place to live. I would have loved to been able to raise my family there.
