Congratulations to a coach who 'gets" it. What a wonderful caring man.The girls who played for him were very fortunate....they might not realize it until later in life. There are many good coaches in this area who try to develop the person first and then the athlete....inspite of the boarding on abuse and lack of respect many of these coaches receive. Escanaba had some and still has some caring coaches who truly care about making each student and better person. I wrestled for one and he helped change my life.

Imagine how many coaches would stay involved with coaching if the parents had the same attitude towards sports as coach Schultz does? Not about winning but using sports as a tool to assist in the growing and developing of YOUR kids, not his. His family sacrificing his time with them, for YOUR kids. Think about that the next time your stabbing your local sports coach in the back and talking smack in the stands. Congrats Coach Schultz, you did it right.
