Seems like a lot of folks to clean the Pathways area. Yes, seems like someone was asleep at the County for letting this happen, although I suspect the new location is more convenient for many Pathways clients.

Surely this idea to ‘move’ or vacate the facility

didn’t happen in a complete vacuum…

Somebody, or someone ‘knew’ this event would take place or not.

If it was known, when was it known and why wasn’t the knowledge made public earlier?

Instead of two or three new buildings on Lincoln Road perhaps one of those stores could have rented space from the county?

Well, now the county, knows what it’s like to have vacant property and no income!

With just a little 'imagination' here are a few suggested uses:

0) the DDA, or more commonly known as the ADD, could install more offices here to carry the increased work load caused by downtown economic development?

The extension office did not employ workers. The county has cut more jobs than needed again. Citizens of Delta County need to be aware of what is happening at the Court House. Please make an effort to be at the next commissioners meeting on Tuesday, November 19. The county employees are here to serve the residents and work for them, not for the Administration.

To many workers are being laid off. More then actually work at the service center.

Well, times are hard all over.. I suppose if McDonalds couldn't afford their staff everyone in town should pitch in and help there too.. right? Pathways 'bills' those that can pay.. what do they charge for a 1 hour session?.. $160 or more! - I wish I made $160 an hour, sitting and listening to someone, jotting a few notes and making recommendations for medication.. Then too, I was TOLD I didn't qualify for their SERVICES, because I had a JOB!.. Go figure.. they bill, but turn you away if you have money... Strange... but true..

Ask how much the county administration tried to raise Pathways' rent for this coming year. Ask why not all six being laid off actually worked at the service center but at the courthouse. Ask how the courthouse will be maintained with one maintenance employee instead of three. Ask why the county won't touch the millions in its rainy day fund to fund county offices at decent staffing levels. Get the whole story, hopefully, eventually.
