I'm with Levi, but I'd take it a step further. What if all of the students had also been armed? (Note: sarcasm)

Smarterthanyou and tailgater are 2 people who need to go live in Europe. A few more concealed guns in the hands of the right person would be effectual. The U.S. Military has some of the most advanced weaponry and many many arms and this actually deters other countries from trying anything against the U.S. so its proven that weapons do in fact help deter crimes/war fare.

Just recently, Kevin Cotter, proposed House bills (HB) 4350,4133, and 4134 which would allow Prosecutors, retired corrections officers, and retired federal law enforcement special rights to carry concealed in Pistol Free Zones, but our children are not valuable enough for the same protection by a teacher/administrator, and this is just wrong, I want protection for my child the same as anyone else. If there were no Pistol Free Zones, people wouldn't be sitting ducks, plus teachers/administrators could carry concealed if they felt the need and this would help. All it takes is one bullet to stop a shooter.

Criminals do not follow laws!! and outlawing guns would be the same as prohibition, criminals could still make guns in their own basements and once they have that gun when everyone else has none, who then has the tactical advantage?

No, really mopeds, what if all of the students had been armed? Would it really be a deterrent to the shooting where the shooter intended to die anyways? More likely a lot more people would have died. Everyone feels like John Wayne with a piece in their hand but "properly trained" is BS, especially in stress situations. I'm sorry if this offends your "If I'd been there..." ego.

smarterthanyou, you are special kind of stupid aren't ya?! Students armed?? the only one who mentioned armed students is you! I am referring to an adult who is properly trained to carry a concealed weapon as per the laws in this state. Children have no business carrying guns outside of hunting or without adult supervision. Sure the shooter intended to die but at the same time he wanted to take as many people with him/her has possible when if there would have been a quick armed response it would have lessened the amount killed. I am happy people like you don't make gun laws, your a danger to yourself and others. People have that right to self defense, same as a person who takes martial arts classes. A person who may not be physically capable of doing martial arts surely has the right to carry a gun. John Wayne hahaha that's funny dummy, how do you think the west was won if not for gun? Are you really smarter than me?? hahaha

You miss my point, but you did use that phrase "properly trained" which is a complete fallacy as I mentioned. I am a gun owner and my favorite is a large caliber pistol capable of taking down a bear or moose, but I'd never carry it in public, concealed or otherwise. The point here is that more guns are not the answer despite your "properly trained" line of crap. There are many, many accounts of friendly fire in our war efforts(Tillman ring a bell?), are you saying those people just weren't trained properly?

smarterthanyou: no I didn't miss your point, accidents happen all the time, even properly trained can have accidents (including LEO's), same as driving a car. Look at some of these cops out there, they don't even know the gun laws, BUT they carry a weapon to take your life and insist on being correct all the time, and some of these local cops wouldn't even qualify on a shooting range much less be able to distinguish a law abiding activity vs. criminal action, meaning they falsely accuse people all the time. The thing you forget is that you probably have never been in a place where a shooting has taken lives and wondered afterwards what could have been done? you choose not to carry your gun, that is your business, me ill carry mine LEGALLY and will use it to defend myself and my family as necessary. I cannot fix all the problems in the world but I don't want to say to myself "wish I would have been carrying my gun". Crime is ever encroaching on our little world here in the U.
