Classic case of the adage "A little bit of information can be a dangerous thing." Magnetic fields from transmission lines would be undetectable from the ground underneath, you'd detect more of the Earth's field than anything from the lines above.

Even the most powerful magnets I've worked with, 5 Tesla superconducting e-magnets, have a 300 Gauss line (strong refrigerator magnet) around 8-10 feet from from the hypocenter of the core.

E-field would also be negligible because, due to AC nature, the distribution of charge along the line would render the far-field effect ~0V/M. Leave the science to the scientists, not the conspiracy theorists.

All of the complainers who live near the new power line should become scientists or just have scientists monitor you when you become lab rats when the line goes up exactly where they want to put it. The best thing you can do is to make foil hats to block all EMFs. They've done studies, you know. 60% of the time, it works every time. Stay classy dailypress, I'm esjr.

"They've actually done studies that show that the dust particles stick more when they're in an electromagnetic field," she said. "So if you're right next to somebody's house, you have this dust that's sticking to people and what's that going to do to people with asthma?"

Huh? What kind of tripe is this? It's one thing to add to the debate, but when you add stupidity to the debate, it somewhat diminishes it! This make about as much sense as global warming, also a hoax!
