Vuachie,

You’re trying to lay down hard and fast words with relatively little addition to the idea of healthcare availability.

Of course, everyone ‘knows’ that having access to medical care, won’t promote health style changes or healthier choices.

What everyone IS suggesting,

is that the POTENTIAL for medical care is being provided,

and may be available,

as opposed to the certainty that

healthcare is NOT available.

What a person does with this potential is their human fallibility.

Just as our tax dollars is being spent on educating the masses,

there is no guarantee that they will receive and benefit from what was or is being delivered in our schools.

You are living proof of such POTENTIAL.

We are here to lead the horse to water,

to lead the child to education,

to lead a person to healthcare,

but we cannot

make them drink,

make them learn, or

make them become healthier.

It’s called human fallibility.

But, we didn't stand around doing nothing,

as you and the rich, the republicans and their corporations suggest...

we ARE doing SOMETHING, and that something,

is the POTENTIAL for improvement.

WHY SHOULD YOU BE SO AGAINST THE CHANCE TO IMPROVE YOUR LOT, YOUR CHILDRENS LOT...

AND THE LOT OF OTHERS?

is it the fact that it might mean that you will lose something, a buck, two bucks,

all of which is immaterial,

except to the rich, to the republican, and to their corps

Well I'll give you credit cheese, I figured someone would cling to that one statement.

Health care doesn't cure people in most instances, it mangages symptoms to improve quality of life or extend life. Is this healthier? I suppose you could argue that.

Part of that statement was the following statements though too. Access to health care doesn't change lifestyle choices. A doctor telling you to lower your sodium intake and excercise more doesn't make you healthier. Doing it does and no access to health care needed. Yet how many do it?

You throw out comments under the misguided notion that the health care system you see today will still be the same tomorrow. I'm here to tell you it won't. Declining reimbursement and declining physician numbers with increased patients will take it toll.

Question:

not receiving health care or medical treatment is most likely to cause a person with an illness to become:

1) healthier ?

2) sicker ?

When brains are allowed to escape down, down to the colon, one hopes vauchee doesn't have such a surgeon with this malidy for rectal cancer surgery.

There isn't much difference with this analogy and the reasoning vuachee is able to put in words.

At least wild animals know which of their young should be removed from the gene pool, not so with humanoids.

Compassion is great as long as you have enough money to survive it.

For those in favor of this don't complain when your health care is compromised because of it.

Yes, everyone will have access but it won't be when you want it or possible when you need it.

Yes, everyone will have access but you will get the treatment dictated by medicaid, covered by medicaid. This may just be no treatment at all. It's called rationing and believe what you want it happens today with medicaid so it won't magically disappear with this expansion. It will only get worse!

Again, this isn't free to the taxpayer. You MAY save money on ER visits but the savings will be lost elsewhere.

And yes, I do hope I'm wrong. It looks as if we will find out.

This is NOT a good thing.

For one, access to health care does NOT make one healthier. It does NOT change lifestyle choices. It does NOT change behaviors. It is NOT free!

Secondly, government run medicare with ever decreasing reimbursement broke the system to begin with. Expanding it will increase the cost of care and speed up the destruction. It will cause further shrinkage in terms of access to the health care system we have left. You can't add 100,000's to the dole at negative reimbursement and expect your health care environment to remain the same.

This also furthers the Michigan nanny-state montra and will bring in not working people but the poor and needy. Furthur burdens on a collapsing health care system.

Hospitals locally and across the country are going broke people. They are going broke because every medicare patient the see they lose money on.

Levi-ticus,

You are really precious,

you are really ‘special’….

Once you start the diatribe and rant about religion and christianity, what are you talking about?

Not Much.

Start with the premise that there might be more than one-true religion.

How many ?

How many religions in the world?

Most, profess to some ‘supreme being’ as their ‘god’.

Now tell me, Levi-ticus, whose religion is right?

Yours?

Mine?

Or your atheist friend next door?

Or, levi-ticus whose ‘god’ is godlier, and righter?

Yours?

only yours?

Why waste your breath.

No matter, the prattle and natter…

Anyway you look at it,

medicaid ‘expansion’ in this day and age,

in this,

one of the most supposedly economically, educationally, and socially advanced countries of the world,

is going to help one heck of a lot of people,

including the rich, and business types who oppose this expansion.

No matter, society is better served from having more people healthy, than with a society full of sick people.

Even the rich,

business owners, and corporations,

repulsiveicans included,

will ultimately ‘profit’ from almost every aspect of a population that is more healthy,

rather than 30 million people who have poor health, and cannot obtain needed health services.

No matter, the natter,

Shortsighted people will whine all the time…

many, whining that

‘we’

(working men and women who pay taxes, not the rich, nor their businesses and corporations)

cannot afford the cost,

but these same self-serving people

never beg the issue about the deadly high costs of producing, running and maintaining war-like activities…

as long as their pockets are profiting from such ‘wars’...

but, medicaid expansion is a good thing in the long run

for everyone.

Election was rigged? Levi you sound like a typical sore loser from the right...you know, claiming two diametrically opposed positions at the same time. Allow me to paraphrase: "Obama and the Dems are so inept that the entire world is falling apart" while at the same time "Obama and the Dems are so diabolically cunning they stole the election and are taking over the country."

Get over it. Your team lost because the majority of the voters in this country rejected the policies being espoused by your etch-a-sketch candidate.
