I am so sorry for what happened to this poor child. We as a community have failed him miserably. Why isn't their laws when children are home schooled whereas they need to be checked on every month? All this could have been avoided for this child who may never recover because of his heinous abusers. I hope and pray God will see they are treated in prison the way they should be. I pray for this young child that some day he will find that all people are not like them and some would have helped had they known. God Bless the Child!

mdcwjen, how exactly would you see God have them treated in prison?

It seems to me that many people who invoke "God" tend to not have taken to heart the teachings of the Bible, particularly the New Testament.

It happens everyday. It happened to me 40 years ago right in Escanaba. Instead of blame keep your eyes and ears open and when you see something amiss be courageous enough to speak up and voice your concerns. Sometimes it might just be a gut feeling. As a girl who came to school with bruises and was only in school every third day with lame excuses, it still took four years to realize that something was terribly wrong. But thank GOD for the person that made the report. Mine was a relative too.
