ESCANABA — At first glance, the baskets being installed at parks across the area may seem like strange trash cans or sculptures, but any disc golfer will tell you that the baskets are part of a spor......

No problemo, Cheddarhead. So the taxes I pay aren't enough? No problem. I'll pay more so you can disagree with me. Hey, you can be my caddy! Fetch! You are really one silly person. (Or three)

I have NO PROBLEM, with your play time….

As long as you PAY-TO-PLAY, since those using the service should also pay for the service...

and, as long as it doesn’t fall as a burden on taxpayers’ shoulders,

when there are too many important matters where taxpayers’ money could be put to

better use!

Maybe we could afford our schools and city government if people with so many kids provided their own play time, recreation, extra-curricular activities, sports programs, and redundant educational opportunities.

Take your five kids to activities that doesn’t involve support by others and at taxpayer’s expense.

How many would that encompass?

I feel pity for you and your negative thought process and poor writing skills and the fact that you think you're superior to everyone because you disagree with everything.

See you on the disc golf course. I'll be the guy having fun playing with my kids. Enjoy yourself and have a great day!

How many

LEMMINGS, are there, compared to

There is nothing wrong with being identified as a ‘contrarian’.

If any below, could relate to history,

The once ‘free’ press and media,

considered it THEIR DUTY, to be contrarian,

and point the way that everything does not come up roses.

Anyone, and anybody, can be a LEMMING.

It takes superior intellect to be a contrarian….

It takes superior intellect to know that you are being conned…

It takes a lifetime of ‘conning’ to be able to expose the ‘con’ and point out alternatives.

Anyone can be a lemming…

And, the country and this town proves that fact .. ..

I have 5 kids, who all have good jobs. Their kids are all involved in sports and other extracurricular activities. I have faith in younger people. I also have faith in this country. You seem to have neither. And you still can't make a paragraph longer than one sentence. But you can be derogatory. How you enjoy nothing is beyond me.

Go play disc golf. Maybe you'll enjoy it. Although I don't think it's much playing solo.

It’s easy for you to say:

“Go back to sitting in your house and staring out the window and yelling at people and dogs, you old curmudgeons. “

I’ll have you know, I’ve sat and sat on the front porch, trying to yell, but there’s no one around to yell at.

The kids are inside twiddling their thumbs, or pestering people for canalabass, while their parents are darting around drinking, not home making cookies, washing windows, cleaning the yard, cleaning the house, washing and ironing clothes.

Maybe kids need an active parent to enroll them into the school of practicality and reality, working around the house…

What’s your excuse.

BTW, lots of room is needed to cast stones, white space, so people like you get the full throw between the eyes.

Thanks for affirming that, Tailgater.

The Daily Press should change the name from "Comments" to "Complaints". And then you have the goofs who have to write 6 posts because they have no idea what a paragraph is so they write a half page of garbled nonsense in double-spaced sentences and think they're intellectuals.

Complain about kids on drugs and then complain about a minimal investment to give them something fun to do. Go back to sitting in your house and staring out the window and yelling at people and dogs, you old curmudgeons.

disc golf is cool. i played years ago. it does not cost much to gear up and it gets people outside and using our incredible park that we are fortunate to have. kuddos to harris. good job implementing anything in this closed minded community! (check out the other comments) this is great for lower income families that cannot afford club memberships but still want an active option for their family.

I have provided a basis for a different point of view and argument.

I am not obliged to provide you with the basis for understanding.

Intellect is one of natures gift.

Obviously, your were passed over…

Disco golf?

How will they ever ‘walk’ the course?

I know, they’ll let their finger’s, as in let ‘your fingers do the walking’.

The most exercise I see young people doing today is thumbing.

Why are we wasting taxpayer dollars on more foolishness?

Since, anything for adults has to have a “fee” paid, maybe this expenditure will employ a few people for taking care of the course and act as the fee collector.

"This is going to be a destination," a wag said.

With all of the people coming to town, how will the city officials cope with the traffic and where will they find parking space.

Let’s start taxing all the people lining up to defray the cost to taxpayers for wear and tear on our streets,

and with all this money, Ludington Street will finally be repaired and upgraded.

After taxpayer money has been spent,

people tire of walking around, and the game moves to their phones or gaming devices,

we’ll have receptacles to place all the dog and bird p.oo.p. and the park will be free for weeds to grow.

Unless, these same kids who need to be dropped off at the school door,

have their way and insist that their grand-parents buy them a disco golf cart,

so they can save their legs for making a bee-line to the couch and their electronic disco golf game.

Fools and their foolish games.

How about plain walking around and picking up fast food restaurant trash,

in the park, parking lots, along the highways and by-ways,

and getting “points” for the largest trash “haul”?

Who knows,

certainly kfc, mcdonald’s, burger king, hardees, taco shell, and subway will jump aboard

and gladly pay our kids for all the trash they collect with their advertising on it!

That would make more sense, cost less,

and the kids would learn something important along the way!
