"The commission assured residents the design for the road had been evaluated by the Michigan Department of Transportation." Yeah, the same idiots that took away the merge lane off of Lake Shore Drive and forced all traffic to go through a deadly intersection. Good Call City!!

Good call on moving forward with the street renovation! Are downtown looks terrible!! I don't agree with taxing the residents when we pay so much in taxes and really don't see much in return as it is. Maybe think about putting some more money into your facilities and needed departments instead of putting millions into the parks and rec.. what is the point of having a nice park if you don't have the residents and businesses to use it!!

I like how the city explains how we are going to be penalized for not taking the grant money, maybe if you asked the residence if they wanted the change before applying for grant money you wouldn't get penalized. Even with all the concerns from the Monday meeting, the city is still putting us in the red and passing the buck to the tax payers, and they can't figure out why business doesn't succeed in Gladstone. I think its time to change them and put the residence first, instead of guilt tripping them in to their personal city agenda. What is the point if voting (i.e. school election) or expressing concerns at city meetings when it does NOTHING. Soon you won't have people expressing concerns, because they will feel like their voice will not matter, and that would be a true shame!

Red, the problem with the merge lane was because the delta county drivers don't know how to merge. There was always some idiot stopped in the ramp.

Mike, it wasn't an actual merge lane and the was the trouble. To fix the problem they shouldn't have gotten rid of it. I think extending it down the highway a mile or so would have been a better idea. Like when you head to Green Bay and the merge lane goes for a while, instead of 25 feet like it did. But nooooo, the smarties took it away. Was and still is the wrong move.
