Ice racing has a separate issue than that of the truck on the ice. The locals are complaining about the ice racing and zoning. A little different since the truck is on 'public property.' Sheez.

I want to politely remind Mr Willis that he's to pay TAXES on those winnings.. and since it's listed in the Daily Press.. he'd better, else the IRS and State of Michigan now have evidence.. Be Ware the Gift Horse.. You don't win NOTHING in this state you don't pay TAXES on!.. just a friendly reminder.. Congrats by the way for a GOOD guess.. and for supporting your local Charity..

Aw C'mon! - EVERYONE is entitled to an opinion and the right to comment! I, more than anyone know that fact.. Why, why, why do we have to 'attack' the person and not simply address the comment made.. In this case the 'permission' to do this fund raiser but not have Ice Racing elsewhere?... I got the Gyst of the comment.. by the way, "GYST" stands for, "Get Yer Stuff Together"... slightly changed because of the 'family' nature of this forum.. No, seriously..I'm wondering how a fund raiser can get permission to dump something in the river but Ice Racers cannot.. I'm serious.. though clueless I suppose.. I didn't BET on the Truck, nor Buy Admission to Ice Racing.. I'm such a bad person!.. Go ahead now.. and ATTACK me.. I got my BIG BOY pull-ups on!.. I can take it!

Great job Bark River Lions and associated sponsors! Raising money to help the community in a unique and interesting manner. Competition in fund raising is tough, you came up with a way to separate your fundraising from the pack. Your event harmed nothing. "Take only pictures and leave only footprints." Popular environmental phrase, certainly has this case even the footprints are gone. I would buy twice as many tickets next year if you could get tailgater to sit on the tailgate, but alas, his toxic attitude would create issues with the DEQ/DNR/EPA and just society in general. Here's to a 4th Annual!

Yes, they had all the permits required. The truck was stripped of it's engine, transmission, and the interior of all pollute-able materials. Then, it was tethered to the Municipal Dock, so all they had to do was pull it out of the water. Please, know what you are talking about before you advertise your ignorance. Of course, that isn't a requirement to post in this forum!

Tailgater, no. They just went and did this without any asking or permission. It was all done illegally and it's amazing the founders of this haven't been arrested for doing such a heinous thing! (insert sarcasm everywhere) Is it hurting you? Why do you care so much? Sheez. God forbid anybody have any kind of fun with our long and cold winters.
