These are the types of horrible crimes that show we need to bring back the death penalty. Especially when it involves children. Purely sick.

No Plea-Bargin, Minimum 20 years for both, or we should as citizens make sure our elected officials are voted out of office!

How sad that this could happen in our community. Torture a child = 4 comments (5 including mine). Torture a cow = hundreds of angry outraged comments. I find it so unbelievable that animal abuse causes more anger than child abuse.

Animals. Just like terrorists they are animals and don't deserve humane treatment. Kahlid Shiek Muhammad does not deserve a civilian trial and neither do they. Send them all to a remote island all together.

I'm so saddened by this news story. My heart hurts for this boy, I hope they find a place to live with a loving family, if I could I would take him in. I have seen this woman a few times and she's in healthcare and cares for others? Mind boggling...I hope they get life in prison and rot. I am a victim in other sorts and I know how this County works with the judicial system and I sure hope they don't let another one slide!!! Let's voice our opinions and get the scum in prison!! LOCKED UP so they cannot hurt that boy or anyone else ever again. I'm outraged by this, I am sad that this happens in our lovely town of Esky :(

Violence may not solve anything, but I believe getting rid of them all together would. It would ensure that they would never be able to do this to anyone else ever again.

what a horrible thing that poor boy had to endure. GOD be with him. the adults are going to need God to with them too.

how can they keep him hidden for so long? anyone knowing of his existance and not saying anything are equally as guilty to me.

our local judicial system will fail. the lawyers will bargin and everybody will get a cut and the perpetrators will get off lightly. our community is in a sad state of affairs.

nobody cares about anyone else any more.

Peace2all, get a grip. Yeah, all of us would have done something if any of us knew. What could the local officials done if they didn't know about it? The boy was homeschooled and unlike the traditional school setting, they have very few required guidelines, look that up. This is how this poor child has been abused for years. If you don't believe that then you are sadly mistaken. I Wish the best for the young man!

I cannot believe child welfare let this go on for years before checking on this poor child. I think if any child is home schooled it should be mandatory they have to be checked on once a month. When our children go to school at least there are other teachers, parents and their peers to see if they are ok. I know child abuse still happens but maybe not as much as it happened to this poor child. Shame on us!

Yeah, a Monthly Visit might have caught this earlier... But what would they have caught? - I mean, during the first monthly visit you detect 'abuse'.. end of case? Abuse was still there - Kid has been injured - folks are in jail, kid is on social service system - and the monthly checks go on. Because, well, because there's even reports of Foster Homes having 'problems' as well.. Let's be really clear on this, it happened, it does happen, and will continue to happen regardless of who, what, why, when and how often it's checked The criminal gets charged, convicted, and sentenced - hopefully the child goes on to a better life.. All those checks cost money though, so make sure you PAY extra on your taxes and such...

Second post, are we now going to hear a daily, weekly, monthly report on these two people? What they had for breakfast, what they wore to court, what the Judge said, Attorney plead.. on and on and on.. ? Sure, cause it'll sell a paper or two - Every dime of which, in my opinion should go directly to the CARE and FUTURE of the victim the story is about. So, break out the check Book Daily Press, and make a GENEROUS donation - I'll be watching for the amount..

Now, remember this.. it's a 'sick'ness to injure a child - and like any other illness it's treated as such.. Would you say this pair are 'sick' ? Sure, so, watch for a plea of 'mental incapacity' to even understand their crime - And now you know WHY, in America there's a push to put more funding in the Mentally ill portion of healthcare.

Not defending these people in any way, but they are, without a doubt, mentally ill The Court will decide if it's Criminal or not or excusable because of their mental condition. - Innocent until proven Guilty - that's what the sign says - Knee jerk comments and pre-trial judging doesn't help the case at all. Let's hope this pair also gets the help they need and deserve as human beings.. Christians are like that y'know?.. Otherwise, we're just a rabble mob with pitchforks chasing the monster up the tower shouting, kill! kill! kill! - Let's see what the court produces.

bornayooper, if you uphold the values of the constitution, these people do deserve a civilian trial. Whether you like it or not they are citizens and deserve to get their time in court. I am not defending these people, I think they are guilty and should serve a long time in prison. But we have a system in place for a reason, and that is to guarantee everyone gets their time in court. Sure, it's not perfect, and a lot of guilty people get away with things, but what is the alternative? That the authorities just get to lock up anyone they think committed a crime without evidence or a trial? We just need to hope that in this case, proper procedure is followed by law enforcement and CPS to ensure that these 2 are found guilty and put away for a long time.

Poor kid! What is even worse than what he went through is what he's about to go through. I was a CPS kid thrown into the foster system at 13 after 13 years of abuse of all kinds. Do you know where teenagers are sent in the foster system?--A juvenile delinquency detention center. I (and all 4 of my brothers) was sent to jail because no one wants to adopt a 'messed-up teen'. I hope the best for him and I hope he gets someone who will take good care of him. But sadly, it's unlikely.

All a bunch of mumbo jumbo in most of these comments. Sticking up for these two giving them "fairness in court"...where was the fairness for the boy that has been emotionally and physically damaged?? April is Sexual Abuse Awareness month, seeing there is nothing any of us can do about this case but maybe someone in the future may need help, let's put a stop to this even if it is just with our voices. If this case gets swept under the rug then believe you me I will be going to the Courthouse to voice my opinion, even if it goes upon deaf ears. I am a parent and I just feel more for a case like this b/c I would die if anything happened like this to my children.

I imagine that poor boy being just a sweet little angel wondering why this was happening to him, by his own mother and the monster living with her. As the years went on, he had to endure unimaginable, horrible things repeatedly. They knew what they were doing, and they enjoyed it. Did a heck of a job keeping it as long as they did. They deserve nothing but what they inflicted on this poor innocent soul. Also, for anyone who does "look the other way" or think it is none of their business, it is just another example of a cowardly, lazy, self-centered idiot who doesn't understand or care what it means to be a decent human being. May this boy find some peace and comfort in his years ahead.

In my opinion, they are worthless and deserve nothing. Well, they do deserve one thing and that is to be reminded of what they did to that boy many times a day for the rest of their lives while in prison. Enjoy!
