So, now the 2013 wolf population count of 658 is announced, 4% LESS than two years ago at 687, when the curve was already flattening out. Bigger packs so fewer wolves. This is especially good news for people who want few fawns eaten in the spring, the larger packs and smaller population having few pups to feed. It was good to read in the DNR's wolf hunt proposal that the deer population is thriving where wolves are, though I disagree with the proposal.

Now that wolves are managing their own numbers, the only excuses left for killing them are trophies, pelts, hate, or to get public approbation and votes, so those wanting these will explode with vitriol. Science? Fat chance. Last year wolf complaints from Ironwood dropped to 7 from 37 and 31 the years before - hasn't registered on registered on Senator Casperson? Or has he realized that it is destroying his hate propaganda? You be the judge.

Of course the DNR wants to be in charge, that way any money gathered by licenses, fines, etc.. all comes their way.. In a Country that designates funds to a school based on TAX on Cigarettes, then launches an expensive drive to try and keep people from smoking.. tells the whole story! It's all about selling Guns, Ammo, and allowing folks to SHOOT anything moving in the forest.. Don't cry to me about how low the deer count is - That's simply another animal, the Great Hunter wants to blast! and hang on his wall as a throphy.

Vote NO on a hunt, if wolves need to be thinned.. let the DNR do it - don't make a SPORT out of it..

estacey you can vote no all you want, but I suggest you educate yourself about what is really happening out there with the wolves and the deer!! It is obvious you do not have a clue!! For one thing the D.N.R can not seem to get anything right in this state!! Just look how well they have handled the commarant situation, and just look how they have handled our fishery. If you do not spend time in the woods to actually witness the damage these wolves are doing, you should just keep your mouth shut!! One way or another a lot of these wolves need to die !!!!!

Not only will I vote 'no' mister (hide behind a fake name and take pot shots at people in cowardace) analyooper, er.. I mean arealyooper... But I'll add your name (if I knew it) to the list of folks who shouldn't be allowed firearms for hunting or otherwise.. Anyone who would try an 'deny' someone else their freedom of speech in this country doesn't deserve the rights the rest of us fought to keep. I may not Wolf Hunt, but I don't see any reason tell someone to 'shut up' either.. nor belittle their opinion as you have.. If ignorance were a penny a pound.. you'd be a millionare! But of course, you think the DNR should have a Wolf Hunt, then.. no, wait a minute you say they can't do anything right.. WHICH side of the argument are you flippy flopping for Mister analyooper?
