Yougot obe kidding,

Speaking of computers, what were YOU doing in 1977?

Were you programming in basic, 4K BASIC or later in 8K BASIC, Extended Basic, Extended ROM BASIC, and or Disk BASIC?

I was, were you?

How does that compare with machine language?

OK Pissy Pig (Name calling is your M.O right?) ****google**** when the little window pops up type in "Mary Smith MESPA Escanaba" (without quotes). Oh yeah and M.O is modus operandi, in case you lack the ability to see beyond your snout, you self righteous ignorant ***. Put your thesaurus down and pick up a dictionary if you don't know what that means. Here is another link. ***********baycollege.edu/mtec see if they have some basic computer and Internet classes you can sign up for, if the signup is online, grab a second grader and have them sign you up.

kIDDing or not,

a quick 'google' search reveals NOTHING about mespa, mary smith, or the mackinaw center...

not even, a thirty minute search, was any information posted to link those initials, names to such an address or report.

If you are going to quote something as fact or fancy, cite your source!

Otherwise, it's just woghosh.

How can there be a question on who Mary Smith or MESPA is? It's in the original article, and...a QUICK Google search will provide links to the Mackinac Center and a few other districts where she is mentioned associated with MESPA in their minutes.

FIRST OF ALL BLAZER,

Teacher’s are NOT mespa EMPLOYEES.

Teachers may be members of the Michigan Education Association (MEA),

but they are NOT EMPLOYEES of that organization.

First and foremost, teachers are employees of boards of education and specific school districts.

Froglegs has it right,

you don’t know if you’re on foot or horseback!

“oh and quit whining.”

“… and have not had a raise despite a larger workload and working with students who require a great deal of special attention."

Could be that teachers deserve what they make and MORE,

for having to work with students who require too much “special attention”

because of parental indifference and poor parenting ?

Maybe, blazer244 should quit HIS whining for his contribution that extend a teachers’ work load and for students who require a great deal of special attention !?

blazer,

What is MESPA, and who is Mary Smith?

For the last thirty minutes,

searching on the internet has led to NO information about the organization or person you referenced as being ‘president'.

Are you confused with Vespa, the motor scooter,

or the Minnesota Elementary School Principal’s Association, both of which clearly are not related to your post…

If you are going to quote someone or something, at least get the basic facts correct.

If the basic information is faulty and misleading,

the rest of your rant is incredibly not creditable.

Tell them to quit then since they are so valuable & make what they are worth if they can...oh and quit whining. "Mary Smith, MESPA president, noted MESPA employees are working without a contract and have not had a raise despite a larger workload and working with students who require a great deal of special attention."

3 disagrees....hmmmm. Seems some folks can't do math. Pitty as this article is about education, ironic too.

I'm guessing that's why they want Snyder out, to keep Michigan a welfare state, they would otherwise starve to death.

Gotta love "perplexed" choice of username. And the post is an excellent example of how they came to choose that name:)

Seriously, run the numbers dude and get off the political football.

If these numbers are accurate and the schools get $161,000 less and they are projecting a loss of 48 students they are essentially, at $6966/student, only loosing money for the equivalent of 23 students.

This then becomes a net increase per student for the remaining 2474 students bringing spending UP to $7035.89/student. Shame on that govenor, I know.

But don't let the numbers get in the way of a good political rant.

Just another proof that Synder and the Republicans desire to destroy public education because an educated public would stand up to the shameless assine giveaways to his and their financial backers. Giveaways that only enriches them at the expense of the middle class. Wake up and throw the bums out including the Republicans who do not represent the real interests of the UP.
