michlw45,
and other school board members:
How many of the phil caron types that post here negatively,
have you seen at or talked with about their 'concerns' at school board meetings,
in public,
in writing,
or over the phone?
It would be interesting,
if any of these
negative, naysayers,
have had the intestinal fortitude to appear in person,
before any board member and voice their concern or make known their range of animosity in person?

Cheeselegs,
what mentality,
does it take for intelligence,
to vote in
"DISAGREEMENT'
with a bidder's list,
where the list of bidders and the bid amount is posted and FACTUAL!
The bonehead answer is
categorically
NONE, ZERO, NADDA

dinglebel.s,
RIGHT ON - an up there with phil and the rest!
What is it that prevents you from the similar mentally challenged,
into realizing the difference between the words,
“needed” or just
‘wanted‘?
What genes are you people absent from your maternal and paternal parents’ pant’s?
More bogus thinking from bogus and challenged non-thinkers!

At least,
the Gladstone community got the benefit of really needed revenue to operate!
This Bay College ‘renewal’ is for a ‘slush-fund’ pot,
NOT REALLY NEEDED or REQUIRED,
to keep fiscally solvent or operational
-It is a sham millage,
bogus and entirely un-needed!
but rather a fund to p.e.a. away on anything or everything,
someone imagines they ‘want’ as opposed to 'NEED' and‘require’.
it is just an extension and surplus non-operationally required millage.
Let it EXPIRE.
JUST SAY and VOTE
NO!

squarely and fairly
Receive RECOGNITION by the Bay College Board,
In that
1) Roy Ness Sales was the LOWEST BIDDER
2) Funds expended for this project would have more substanialy remain LOCAL
3) Roy Ness Sales was the LOWEST BIDDER by $71,000.00
4) Roy Ness Sales was a U.P. Company

This post bears repetition because of the LACK OF IMPACT Bay de Noc Community College administration, and the college board of trustees cared so little about in awarding a HIGHER CONTRACT BID to a downstate firm,
WHEN..
In point of fact, there were five (5) bidders from the Upper Peninsula, and
THE LOW BIDDER …
Was a local company right next door to Bay de Noc Community College.
Another school vote for millage will be called for on November 5, 2013.
Bay de Noc Community College will be calling for a vote for what some may call a ‘slush-pot renewal of a millage to be used for non-specific, non-ad hoc funding.…

Consideration must be given to vote
AGAINST
this ’slush-fund’ millage renewal ...
– voters should demand of the college administration and the board of trustees,
to answer the question of why the recently awarded bid for remodeling of the nursing lab/lecture facilities
was granted to a lower Michigan concern:
DCC Construction/Antler Construction, LLC, 9100 Lapeer Road, Suite A, Davison Mi 48823?

This lower Michigan construction company’s bid
was in the amount of $897.000.00.
This amount was a FULL
$71,000.00 HIGHER than a local bidder,
A local taxpayer,
A local employer, A local supplier,
and, next-door neighbor of the college,
Roy Ness Contracting & Sales, Inc., 1801 North Lincoln Road, Escanaba Mi 49829.
The Escanaba contractor’s bid was $826.000.00,
a total of $71,000.00 under and the lowest bidder
of seven contractor’s who furnished bids for the project.

Five (5) U.P. construction companies furnished bids:
Escanaba, Mi (1) Upper Peninsula
Wells, Mi (1) Upper Peninsula
Marquette, MI (2) Upper Peninsula
Munising, MI (1) Upper Peninsula
Davison, Mi (1) Lower Peninsula Saginaw, Mi (1) Lower Peninsula
Taxpayers, local workers and the community would have been better served by spending MONEY LOCALLY
by awarding the construction work to the LOWEST bidder,
a Delta County firm,
with Delta County residents
supplying labor and materials.
Residents and taxpayers should
challenge the administration and the board of trustees at Bay College’s
November's millage election by
voting
“NO”.

From a field of seven (7) companies bidding,
five (5) were from the Upper Peninsula,
but the contract was awarded to the sixth bidder,
a lower Michigan firm with a $71,000.00 higher bid.
On this, Bay's call for additional renwal,
of a non-specific, slush-fund millage...
