Im a Braves alumni and always had pride about being one. I never in a million years would of thought of it as being derogitory. In all actuallity an Eskimo is a native american too, schools wouldnt pick a mascot that they wanted to be a source of discrimination, mascots are a source of pride

I'm sure these liberal nuts do NOT speak for the majority of the Native American neighbors we have. In fact, I wouldn't be a bit surprised to find that the agenda behind such Horse 'stuff' isn't an attack on the Native American economic status in this country today.. Imagine if you will, thousands of folks 'mad as hornets' not visiting the Casino.. Oh yeah.. that's a goal of some folks..

But the Gladstone Braves emblem?... Discrimination?... Hardly!..

Well by definition, "Discriminatory - Adjective Making or showing an unfair or prejudicial distinction between different categories of people or things, esp. on the grounds of race,..." I would have to say, "NO" and further add that the author of this piece doesn't know what 'Discrimination" is - The fact that a School chose, a long time ago, a symbol of Indian Culture to represent the spirit of the school in academics and sports is NOT, in any sense of the word.. 'derogatory' to that people, or race..

This has been an epidemic lately. Any teams, whether pro, college or HS have been attacked if they use Native American imagery or names. It must be that time again?

There was a poll conducted the last time this "fight" was started. The poll was conducted with Native American response only. 90% of Native Americans polled found no reason to be offended by the use of the names.

Liberals are quick to take up a fight for someone without even asking those they defend if they need defense. Liberalism is a mental condition according to some psychiatrists. Of course Liberals dismiss that as complete hooy, then call you names or blame someone else for it, which strengthens the idea that there is something mentally wrong with them. Go figure! Watch me get attacked by a liberal to prove my point. LOL

You see how PC has RUINED this country. Are you not sick and tired of the liberal agenda! Being a Brave is an honor and we respect our Native American brothers. Stop looking at each other by color. View everyone as a human being. Stop this Liberal BS now. GOOO BRAVES!

Using Braves is a honoring of the Native American heritage of the UP. Tell whatever or whoever complained to go pack sand.
