It isn't necessary to classify state lands specifically to achieve biological diversity when all forestland--state, federal, and private in the state are considered. In effect much Forest Service land has already been so classified.

We are re-examining our forests in many other state. It is time to return all state species' forests. A species forest is the healthiest forest. Time to end all State and Federal forest resource "entitlements." The balm of the species forest is good and a completely restored forest will make all Americans proud. A species forest is of, by and for all the other species of plants, animals, fungi and soil microbes . . . and is best for the climate, too. speciesforest.blogspot****

You simply have to remember that Casperson only represents the logging industry and not the people of the the 38th. He is their pocket and gets most of his money from them. He believes we should allow them cut down the whole forest just to create more profit for his buddies, who then funnel it back to him. The state forest belongs to us, not Casperson and the people he is in bed with.
