Nobody has said that a person cant protect themselves against a wolf attack, even though its very unlikely.... Im all for the wolves in the UP, but selfpreservation comes first.. But that doesnt give any idiot with a gun permission to just shoot for sport which is absurd

ok look to the wolf advocates. if a wolf bites my me or my child just like any other wild animal i am going to protect myself and my family. otherwise i pretty much leave them alone.we all need a balance here

Some idiots will use an excuse possible to shoot something. Heres a idea, lets cleat out all the wolves, bear, mountain lions and any other thing theyll wat next, as a matter of fact why not clear the forest of all its creatures besides fuzzy little bunnys and even then they would want a season for rabbits lol.... leave the wolves alone, if you dont like it move downstate.. The wildlife is the only thing the UP has going for it, yet so many ppl wanna destroy it.. I say get rid of some of the people up here and make more room for wolves and other wildlife alike... Dont like it move to detoit.

Wolves responsible for depredations can be killed. Why is it that with less than 700 wolves, those who want to protect the wolf are called extremists but those who want to kill the wolf are not? Seems to me the hunting groups are the extremists.

I love how the extremist group says "People dont want it". They must mean the animal rights extremist group members. A majority of Michiganders either dont care if they are hunted, or they outright support the hunt. A small group of extremists dont want it, so they are going on thee offensive to try and tell everyone else what to do. Why do we accept that behavior? Why were these extremists given a seat at the table of debate? This country has made a lot of mistakes when it allowed so few to dictate everything to everyone.

How about this. Let the extremists have their way but charge them 50 grand for every pet or livestock kill payable to the victim and another 50 grand to the state in fines. If they fail to make payment, kill 10 wolves. I'd be behind that.
