I say he should get the 14 yrs that he was charged with at first, 36 months, could be all he sits that would be a joke for what he did, that little f***er tried to kill a person!!Think about that LeMire!!! It's people like him that make our quite little town look bad.. He should go to prison for at least 5 yrs they will think he's "pretty", there.

I agree with all of the above. But what ****** me off,Is that he never said he was sorry for what he did. I always say for every action there is a reaction. I think 5 years is pitiful for his actions. And the family is just as guilty for trying to cover it up.

Some may think it extreme, but I think an eye for an eye, or in this case a leg for a leg, also any medical attention required by the offender would come at his cost. And as for the attorney (assuming correct quoting by the reporter) "admitted his client made a mistake by leaving the scene?" What about making the mistake of running down a human being? Then, after leaving, which according to Mr. Lemire, was wrong, how about lying to the cops? Sounds like Barbeau was on course for incarceration, to bad the other guy had to be involved....

"Barbeau's attorney, Don LeMire, admitted his client made a mistake by leaving the scene. LeMire asked the court not to impose prison time for the "bad decisions made by a young person." Really?!! Mr. Lemire, he is not a young person. A young person is someone under 18 and sometimes make mistakes for irrational behavior. This "guy" is 27!!! I hope he sits all 5 years.
