Color of the flag
EDITOR:
I was reading a Kurt Vonnegut book, and it had a racist character saying that the color white in the American flag stood for the skin color of the American people. That gave me an idea: maybe we can improve race relations in this country by changing some of the white stripes and stars to black on our flag. The flag and its colors are only symbols, and sometimes symbols don’t matter, but sometimes they matter very much. I never thought about meaning of flag colors before, but their potential to symbolize our skin colors makes enough sense so the flag should have some black in it.
