Write some common sense into our gun laws
Can someone tell me why the American public at large needs to own assault weapons, high capacity magazines, bump stocks and other gun attachments that enable guns to fire extremely rapidly? Is it really necessary that these guns must to be available to almost any adult?
Is it time to put an end to the sale of the guns and attachments that spray bullets into our children in schools? How many people must die before we say, enough is enough? Do we have the will to work as hard and as long as it takes to overcome the gun lobby, and write some common sense into our gun laws?
To be sure, banning assault weapons will not end all gun violence, but it likely will reduce the number of times that dozens of people are slaughtered in one confined location. Please write your state and federal representatives. Ask them to support legislation prohibiting the sale of assault weapons. There is no reasonable purpose for ordinary citizens to own these guns. Also ask them to make waiting periods, and more thorough background checks, mandatory.
Surely our children are worth at least these unobtrusive precautions.
