Debate is great, hatred is not

EDITOR:

In response to Katherine Leduc’s attempt to reprimand me for wanting “some” columnists silenced. I am all for free speech. Debate is great. However, hatred has not been this prevalent for a long time. Just tonight, Rob Reiner says that its all-out war against Trump. Johnny Depp wants him assassinated. Kathy Griffin holds up a severed head depicting Trump. A play in Central Park kills a Trump look-a-like and the audience cheers. Madonna wanted to blow up the White House. DeNiro was going to punch him in the face. Maxine Waters was calling for impeachment before he was sworn in. Pelosi and Schumer both trashed the new Heath Insurance Plan before it was even written.

When a rodeo clown wore an Obama mask he was fired immediately. How many people did you hear calling for President Obama to be killed? Okay, everyone always brings up Ted Nugent. Most people don’t even know what he said. That’s one of very few. There are dozens that hate Trump. I did not want Obama. I didn’t like him or anything he stood for. I actually did read what he wrote and listened to what he said.

Today, they brought out the grandma over the cliff commercial from years ago. The Colorado governor says that hundreds of thousand will die with the new Trump care. The liberal leftist Antifa group is planning on disrupting the re-enactment of the battles at Gettysburg, and they want to desecrate the graves. Protesting in Berkeley resulted in damage to innocent people’s stores. They protested Milo and Ann. What happened to free speech? If we disagree, we must be silenced. And it is on the liberal side almost totally.

When Obama was elected, did universities have to designate “safe spaces”? Did Colbert denigrate Obama? I won’t write what he said. I remember the Saturday Night Live sketches with President Ford, President Clinton, and both Bush presidencies. Most of that satire was done in fun. What has been happening to Trump has crossed the line. One so-called comedian made a “joke” about incest. There was the report about Trump and the hookers in Russia.

Again, when does the madness stop? Trump won. Get over it. In every situation there is a winner and loser. Participation trophies are for youth soccer and t-ball. In the real world, its better to win. If you lose, you figure out what you did wrong and try again. You don’t trash the winner.
