Family’s donation improves boat launches
This week’s bouquets go to:
From the Escanaba Recreation Department:
A huge thank you to Mel Ozimac’s family for donating fish boards at the Aronson Island Boat Launch and the North Shore Boat Launch in his memory. Mel was an avid fisherman and had an interest for keeping kids involved in the outdoors.
His family also donated funds to purchase additional fishing poles at various events held throughout the year in his memory. The city of Escanaba and the Bay de Noc Great Lakes Sportsfishermen thank the family for their generous donation. The fish boards make a great addition to the boat launches and now the great catch of the day can be displayed. Thanks to city of Escanaba Harbor Master Larry Gravatt and his marina staff for installing the fish boards.
From Friends of the Gladstone Library:
The Friends of the Gladstone Library would like to acknowledge all the people and businesses who donated books for the raffle at our Candlelight Dinner in April. We are also incredibly fortunate to be able to draw from local talent each year for our entertainment and serving help. To United Memorial Methodist Church and Pastor Hart, a huge thanks for continuing to allow us to rent your beautiful, big, building.
Each Saturday the Daily Press salutes individuals and groups from our area who have had a very positive impact on the way we live.
We identify our bouquet recipients in one of two ways: from Daily Press news pages and from nominations sent in by our readers.
Mail us a postcard or letter identifying your nomination and putting into detail what they’ve done. Include your name, address, and phone number. Send nominations to Saturday Bouquets, The Daily Press, 600 Ludington Street, Escanaba, MI 49829.
They may also be sent to us by going to our Web site, www.dailypress.net, and clicking on the submit news button. Once there, click on “Bouquets” and follow the simple instructions.
