Company helps Big Bay de Noc School
This week’s bouquets go to:
From Big Bay de Noc School:
Over the course of the last few years, Big Bay de Noc School students have gained the benefit from ongoing support from Heritage Sustainable Energy Garden Wind Farm and its owner, Marty Lagina. The company and the Marty and Olivia Lagina Foundation has awarded nearly $150,000 to the school for support of operations, special programs, athletics, and the playground.
This year alone through various grants, the district has received $30,000 to offset general operations costs. In addition, the Big Bay de Noc Bear Bots (Robotics) received $10,000 in funding. The classrooms have also benefited from the generosity, receiving $5,000 to purchase 3D printers, $2500 for graphing calculators, and $3,100 to purchase the Handwriting Without Tears and Keyboarding Without Tears programs.
In addition, Heritage Sustainable Energy has awarded nearly $10,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors. This year, each student graduating from Big Bay de Noc School will receive a $300 scholarship from Heritage Sustainable Energy.
Heritage Sustainable Energy also arranges tours and offers field trip opportunities for the students of Big Bay de Noc School to incorporate into cross-curricular learning in the classrooms.
The generosity of Heritage Sustainable Energy and the Marty and Olivia Lagina Foundation has allowed Big Bay de Noc School to maintain financial stability and thrive in the classrooms with innovative programming for students.
