Volunteers made Trail Day a success

This week’s bouquets go to:

From Brenda M. Madden, U.S. Forest Service:

I would like to personally thank the group of volunteers that volunteered their time to make National Winter Trails Day at the Rapid River Cross Country Ski Trail a huge success. Without their dedication this event would not be made possible. We had over 200 participants at the event. Most of all I want to thank the group of volunteers that not only helped out at trails day, getting folks outfitted with the equipment they needed but also providing lessons to hopefully get them interested in the sport. These are the same folks that dedicate their time in grooming the ski trail all winter. Thanks again.

From Gayle DeShambo of Escanaba

On behalf of North Woods Place Senior Living residents, families and staff I would like to send a bouquet to Ken Milam, veterans outreach specialist at the Department of Veterans Affairs, Escanaba Vet Center. This bouquet is in appreciation for all of the extra time he spends with our veterans for lunch, visiting, helping with veteran services and paper work and most recently for changing his schedule to take one of our residents to Iron Mountain for a last minute medical appointment. Ken, you are indeed an example for all of us in demonstrating kindness, compassion and humility. Many thanks for all that you do.

From Cathy Uhazie of Escanaba:

I just want to thank the volunteers in our community theater Players de Noc for providing me with a lifetime of entertainment. “Curtains” was a noteworthy in a long history of dedicated volunteer community theater. And by the way the “Grande Dame” still has some pipes!
