Katherine J. ‘Joyce’ Ayotte

ESCANABA — Katherine J. “Joyce” Ayotte, 93, Escanaba, passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2019, at Pinecrest Medical Care Facility in Powers. She was born March 13, 1925, in Escanaba, daughter of the late John and Lena (Vincent) Krebs. She married the late Anthony “Jock” Ayotte in 1946.

Joyce loved cooking, baking, going out to eat, shopping and was an avid Lions fan, but really loved babysitting her grandchildren.

She is survived by her three daughters, Nancy (Butch) Gyselinck, Cathy Grondine and Jeanette (Jim) Andersen; 10 grandchildren, Justin (Sheila) Wolsker, Cody (Nichole) Wolsker, Garrett (Lindsey) Wolsker, Wendy (Kevin) Pearman, Brian Gyselinck, Jackie Grondine, Jeremy Mileski, Nicole (Dale) Dugree, Derrick (Pam) Faccio and Lerrin (Jennifer) Faccio, as well as numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two daughters, Susan Faccio and June Mileski; siblings; Helen Williams, Priscilla Paler, Mary Boudreau, Lionel Krebs, Dale Krebs and Elroy Krebs.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. CST on Saturday, March 16, at St. John Neumann Church in Spalding with Fr. Jacek Wtyklo officiating. A luncheon will follow Mass in the church parish hall. Burial will take place in the Meyer Township Cemetery in the spring.
