Manthy Anne Johnson

ESCANABA — Manthy Anne Johnson, 50, of Escanaba, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 21, 2018, at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor, Mich., following complications associated with severe pneumonia and adenovirus. Manthy was born on Jan. 23, 1968, in Escanaba, the daughter of Lester and Carole (Fisette) Johnson. Manthy attended Holy Name Catholic School, and later Escanaba High School, graduating in 1986. Manthy worked at several local businesses over the years in the Escanaba area, most recently as a pet grooming assistant before being diagnosed with non Hodgkins Lymphoma.

Manthy enjoyed spending time with-loved ones, shopping, gardening fishing, or searching for beach glass on the shores of Lake Superior, and especially had a undying love for her fur babies Emily, Iya and Cali.

Surviving Manthy Anne are her parents, Lester and Carole; twin brother, Don Johnson (Loretta Guare); brother, Beau Johnson; and sister, Abby Johnson, all of Escanaba. She is also survived by niece, Kaylee Johnson, and nephew, Dylan Johnson, of Wisconsin, special friend, Steven Janke of Wilson, and special family friend, Ken O’Donnell of Escanaba, also surviving are several aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by grandparents Henry and Norma “Manthy” (Beaudry) Bonacci, and James and Irene (Wiggins) Johnson.

In keeping with her wishes there will be no public services. Generations Funeral Services of Ann Arbor are assisting the Johnson family with cremation.
