Hazel Irene Mary Klug

ESCANABA — Hazel Irene Mary Klug, 91, of Escanaba, passed away peacefully with her family by her side at St. Francis Hospital Monday evening, Aug. 20, 2018.

Hazel was born Sept. 2, 1926, in Worcester, England, the daughter of Edmund and Constants (Nipe) Priest. In 1945, she met and married her husband, Walter Joseph Klug. Together the couple moved to the United States in 1946. Hazel’s husband preceded her in death Oct. 3, 2002.

Hazel loved to garden, watching her birds, and spending time with family.

Hazel is survived by: son, Melvin (Dee) Klug of Cheyenne, Wyo.; two daughters, Janet Bourdeau of Escanaba, and Cheryl Couillard of Escanaba; one sister, Bobbie (Roger) Baulk; grandchildren, Edward Couillard, Tammi (Bruce) Wendt, Paul (Jackie) Couillard, Lori Oliver, Tracy (Ken) Larson, Tom (Robin) Bourdeau, Scott (Jenny) Bourdeau, Chris, Amy, Jeff Klug, Tracy McConrchie; great-grandchildren, Heather, Connor, Austin, Dylan, Eric, Kennedy, Steven, Paul, Danny, Frank, Arron, Brent, Brittany, Brayden, Branna, Emily, Ken and niece, Rachel and her two sons, Marcus and Joshua.

In addition to her parents and loving husband of 56 years, she is preceded in death by her son, Peter Klug, and sister, Joy Adams of Escanaba, Mich.

Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 27, at noon at St. Joseph and St. Patrick Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Eric Olson will be officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph and St. Patrick Catholic Church. Hazel will be laid to rest next to her husband and son in Holy Cross Cemetery.
