Alan ‘Craig’ C. Maxwell
POWERS — Alan “Craig” C. Maxwell, 83, Powers, passed away on Tuesday, June 5, 2018, at Bellin Hospital in Green Bay. He was born in Escanaba on June 18, 1934, son of the late Alan and Jean (Taylor) Maxwell. On July 1, 1961, Craig married the former Gail Lawrence in Two Rivers, WI.
Craig proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He was a faithful member of Grace Lutheran Church in Powers. Craig enjoyed golfing, fishing, Sudoku, playing cribbage, and traveling with his family. He especially loved spending time with his family and inviting friends over.
Craig is survived by his loving wife, Gail; children, Craig T. (Linda) Maxwell, Brent (Tammy) Maxwell, and Julie (Rodney) Awve; grandchildren, Brett, Kate, Chase, and Blake Maxwell, Rylee (John) Kohls, Colton Maxwell, Maxwell Soucy, and Sean and Luke Awve; sister, Carol McKernon and brother-in-law, Tom (Maddy) Lawrence.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Friends may call on Sunday, June 17, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. CST at the Allo Coolman Funeral Home in Spalding. Tony Revord American Legion Post 244 will have military rites at noon at the funeral home. A funeral service celebrating Craig’s life will follow the visitation Sunday at Grace Lutheran Church in Powers at 1 p.m. with Pastor Ronald Zindler officiating. Burial will be in Spalding Township Cemetery.
