Ruby V. Lapp

ESCANABA — Ruby V. Lapp, 95, of Escanaba, passed away Friday morning, Feb. 23, 2018 at OSF St. Francis Hospital.

She was born on July 15, 1922 in Dafter, Mich., daughter of Merlin J. and Edna (McKenzie) Fegan. Ruby graduated from Pershing High School in Detroit and attended Wayne University.

She was employed as the secretary for the City of Detroit and then was a secretary at Ford Hospital for 13 years.

Ruby married Norbert Lapp on June 1, 1944 in Detroit.

She was a member of United Presbyterian Church where she was a Deacon for a period of time.

Ruby traveled extensively throughout Europe, North Africa, Canada, Hawaii, Mexico and the Western United States in her motor home with her beloved cat.

She loved to spin and work with wool, hook rugs, quilt table runners, bed quilts and placemats.

Among survivors include her son, Alan (Maura) Lapp; two grandchildren, Kevin and Brian; and her cousin, Lorna Hiney of Escanaba.

For the past five years, she was lovingly cared for by the wonderful people at Bishop Noa Home.

In keeping with Ruby’s wishes, no services will be held and burial will take place in Rudyard.
