Peggy Ann Reeve
GLADSTONE — Peggy Ann Reeve, 65, of Gladstone, passed away Friday, Feb. 23, 2018, at Bellin Hospital in Green Bay surrounded by her loving family.
Peggy was born on March 11, 1952, in Petersburg, Ind., daughter of Marvin and Polly (Steward) Mead. She was raised in Hope, Ind., graduating from Hauser High School.
She received a bachelor’s degree in math from Indiana State University and began her 25-year teaching career. She taught in Texas, Ohio, Indiana and Michigan, retiring from St. Francis Cabrini High School in Allen Park, Mich., in 1999.
On Aug. 12, 1973 Peggy married Gordon Reeve in Washington, Ind. Together they celebrated 44 years of marriage and raised their daughter Kim.
During her high school years, Peggy was very active in 4-H, especially showing cattle. She and Gordon also loved to go sailing and spending time at their cabin on Bois Blanc Island. Peggy kept busy with book clubs and events with the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship in Escanaba.
Peggy is survived by her husband, Gordon of Gladstone; daughter, Kim (Oscar) DeLong and their son Thomas of Escanaba; and mother, Polly Mead of Washington, Ind.; sisters, Susan Mead of Washington, Ind, Julie (Mike) Churchill of Albuquerque, N.M.; and brother, Pete (Sharon) Mead of Washington, Ind; as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Marvin.
Visitation will be on Sunday, March 4, at the Crawford Funeral Home, 302 S. 13th St., Escanaba, from 1 to 2 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. with Bruce Hansen officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Reeve family.
