Ronald John Jackson

MANISTIQUE — Ronald John Jackson, 89 of Manistique, Mich., passed away Jan. 24, 2018, at his home in Manistique.

He was born Sept. 7, 1928, in Manistique, Mich., the son of Joseph and Mary (Mersnick) and attended school in Manistique. He was a graduate of the Manistique High School.

Ron proudly served in the United States Army as an ambulance driver.

On July 7, 1951, he married the former Eleanor G. Martin in Manistique, Mich. They made their home and raised their family in Manistique.

He retired from the Inland Lime & Stone Company after 30 plus years.

Ron enjoyed cutting wood and fishing.

He is survived by his loving wife, Eleanor Jackson of Manistique; sons, Ron Jackson of Menominee, Mich., and Dennis Jackson of Manistique; daughter, Linda (Kevin) Swanson of Manistique; grandchildren, Jennifer, Andy, Josh, Jana, Tim, Kara, and Ron; great-grandchildren, Alex, Ella, Maya, Emma, Olivia, and Ryland; brother, Jim (Janice) Jackson of Manistique; and his sister-in-law, Jackie Jackson of Manistique.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his grandson, Kyle; brothers, Russell Jackson and Joe Jackson.; and his sister, Ruth Jackson.

Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to noon, Saturday, Jan. 27, at the Messier-Broullire Funeral Home in Manistique. A prayer service will follow at noon at the funeral home with Father Ben Paris officiating. Burial will be held in the spring in the Fairview Cemetery at Manistique.
