Mark A. Flagstad

ESCANABA — Mark A. Flagstadt, 56, of Escanaba, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2017 at his home following a lengthy illness.

Mark was born in Escanaba on Sept. 3, 1961, son of Alan and Joanne (DeLaire) Flagstadt. He graduated from high school in 1980 and attended Bay College.

On Feb. 20, 2006, Mark married Jennifer Chapla in Oconto, Wis.

He moved to Green Bay in 1994. He owned/operated several businesses during the 20 years that he called Green Bay home. Most recently he worked as a General Manager and dispatcher for Yellow Cab of Brown County until his illness required his retirement. He then chose to move back home to be closer to family and friends; which is where he spent the last three years.

Mark loved listening to music, especially classic and modern rock and roll. He loved going to concerts but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends; which he was blessed to have a plethora of.

In addition to his wife, Jennifer of Escanaba, Mark is survived by son, Kristofer Gregorie of Escanaba; his mother, Joanne Flagstadt of Escanaba; siblings, Kris (Gus) Olson of Escanaba, Kathy Flagstadt of Marquette, Kenneth (Shelly) Flagstadt and Kevin Flagstadt all of Escanaba; father in law, Gerald “Don” Elya Jr. of Henry S.D.; sister in law, Rebecca (Charlie) Heustess of Henry S.D.; brothers in law, Jeffrey Irish and David Irish both of Green Bay, Wis.; and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and friends.

Mark was preceded in death by his father, Alan; mother in law, Sandra Elya; mother and father in law, Mitzi and Ricky Chapla; niece, Amber Mastey; and his fur babies, Mariah and Luna.

A celebration of Mark’s life will be held at the convenience of the family later this spring.
