Lester G. “Fuzzy” LeGault

ESCANABA — Lester G. “Fuzzy” LeGault, 81, of Escanaba, passed away Thursday, Dec. 14, 2017, at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wis.

Fuzzy was born in Escanaba on Sept. 15, 1936, son of Herbert and Rose (Martin) LeGault. He was a lifelong resident of Escanaba. He graduated from St. Joseph’s High School.

In 1955 he joined the U.S. Air Force, serving until 1958 when he was honorably discharged. He then joined the Reserves until 1963.

He worked for Harnischfeger then went to work for the C&N Railroad, working as an engineer.

Fuzzy was well-known in the area, he loved being outdoors fishing, hunting and playing golf. He enjoyed watching the Detroit Lions and Tigers on TV and cheering them on.

He was a member of the Elks Club.

Among survivors are his sisters, Rita McNair and Marlene Chriske; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Herbert and Rose, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Philip “Tippy” LeGault, Donald LeGault, Laverne Thibeault, Beatrice Lindahl, and Clara LeGault.

Graveside military services will be held in spring 2018 at Holy Cross Cemetery in Escanaba. The date and time will be announced in the spring.
