Arlene M. (Cousineau) Castle

ESCANABA — Arlene M. (Cousineau) Castle, 80, of Escanaba, passed away Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 22, 2017, at Christian Park Health Care Center.

She was born on Aug. 25, 1937, in Escanaba, daughter to James and Bertha (Roberts) Cousineau. Arlene graduated from Escanaba High School.

After raising her family, Arlene worked at IGA and then St. Vincent De Paul for 18 years before her retirement.

She loved to play the guitar, celebrating with family and friends, feeding and watching the deer, going for rides in the woods, playing horseshoe and bean bags, knitting, sewing and crocheting.

Prayer was important to Arlene. She was a member of St. Anne’s Church.

She was also a member of the OSF Hospital Auxiliary and St. Vincent De Paul Society.

Among survivors are her sons, David LaMarche, Dan (Roxanne) LaMarche and Dale (Amy) LaMarche; daughter, Deborah (Joseph) Nolde, all of Escanaba; her significant other of many years, James Castle; the father of her children, William L. LaMarche; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; brothers, Donald (Delores) Cousineau of Escanaba; and sister, Katherine Fudala of Escanaba.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Raymond Cousineau, and sisters, Ruby Chouinard and Margaret Therrian.

The family will greet friends and relatives on Friday, Dec. 1, at St. Anne’s Church from 10 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., which will be officiated by Rev. Fran DeGroot. A luncheon will be served following the mass.

Burial will take place in Gardens of Rest Cemetery.

The Crawford Funeral Homes are assisting the family.
