Jacqueline Sue ‘Jackie’ Nepper

ESCANABA — Jacqueline Sue “Jackie” Nepper, 82, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by loved ones on Oct. 14, 2017, following a lengthy illness.

Jackie was born in Escanaba on Aug. 28, 1935, the daughter of Axel and Emily (Boyle) Anderson. She was a lifelong resident of Escanaba and graduated from Escanaba High School, class of 1953.

On June 25, 1983, Jackie married Robert Nepper at Christ the King Lutheran Church in Escanaba.

Jackie was a valuable employee at the Stonehouse for many years before retiring to pursue her passion of baking and decorating special occasion cakes for family, loved ones, and clients. Jackie also enjoyed sewing, cooking, and was a talented quilter, and avid Detroit Lions fan. Jackie’s creative spirit touched all those who knew her. She was a volunteer greeter and member of the choir at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church, where she was a member for many years.

She is survived by her children, Denise (Rob) Reno of Green Bay, Wis., Robert (Judy) Anderson of Gladstone, Tammy (Marty) Pfiester of Quinnesec, Kim (Scott) Schlenvogt of Escanaba, Lance Anderson of Escanaba; step-children, Michael (Trisha) Nepper of Milwaukee, Wis., John Nepper of Kenosha, Wis., and Mark Nepper of Madison, Wis.; siblings, Axel (Barbara) Anderson of Menominee, John (Carol Bergquist) Anderson of Escanaba, Sally (George) Majestic of Rapid River, Marsha (John) Burroughs of Escanaba, and Marty (Joanne) Anderson of Vancouver; 13 grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren. Jackie never missed a birthday or special occasion. She was loved.

Jackie was preceded in death by her husband, Robert, and her parents.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, Oct. 19, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. with Rev. Paul Doletsky officiating.

Burial will take place in Gardens of Rest Cemetery at 2 p.m.

The Crawford Funeral Homes are assisting the family.
