Glenn G. Getzloff

WILSON — Glenn G. Getzloff, 76, of Wilson, passed away early Monday morning, Aug., 7, 2017, at St. Francis Hospital with his loving family by his side.

Glenn was born on April 28, 1941, in Escanaba, son of Arthur and Edna (VanEnkevort) Getzloff. He was raised in Wilson and graduated from Harris High School and attended Northern Michigan University.

On May 10, 1964, he married Ruth Elaine Jackson in L’Anse.

He worked for Humphrey Chevrolet, U.P. Machine, Harnischfeger, and ran the Getzloff Brothers Farm with his brother, Abe.

Glenn loved to hunt, fish, and mostly spend time with his family. You could find him working on his sawmill and planer to complete woodworking projects. He repurposed furniture, loved to garden, watch and feed birds and spending time at his camp.

He is survived by his children, Sue (Barry) Frisk, Tim (Kerry) Getzloff, Debbie (Craig) Kutha, Jenny (Bill) Micheau, all of Wilson, and Nancy (Ron) Getzloff-Nelson of Wausaukee, Wis.; grandchildren, Cameron (Shawna) Getzloff, Julia Gudwer, Cassidy Getzloff, Christine Kutha, Heather Kutha, Jared Micheau, Laina Micheau, Marisa Frisk, Justin Frisk, Colton Nelson, Halle Nelson and Andrew Peterson; five great-grandchildren; siblings, Robert (Wanda) Getzloff of Wilson and Abe (Jill) Getzloff of Bark River.

In addition to his parents and wife, Ruth, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathleen Getzloff; brother, Arthur Getzloff and sister, Rita Mary Barnhill.

Visitation will be held this Thursday, Aug. 10, at the Crawford Funeral Chapel in Bark River from 3 to 6 p.m. with funeral services to follow at 6 p.m. at the funeral chapel with Pastor Chris Bergquist officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family.
