Robert C. Calouette
ESCANABA — Robert C. Calouette, age 90, of 6597 N Road in Escanaba, passed away Saturday evening, January 14, 2017 at U.P. Health System – Marquette. He was born on September 5, 1926 in Escanaba, the son of Chester and Margaret (Gunter) Calouette. Robert grew up in the Escanaba area and was a member of the Escanaba High School graduating class of 1945. He married the former Charlotte Olson on July 3, 1945 and she preceded him in death on May 20, 2003. The couple shared nearly 58 years of marriage together. Following high school, Robert worked at Northern Motor Rebuilders for over 30 years until his retirement. He also co-owned Marble Arms, Kelly’s Tappets, and Kelly’s Camshaft for many years. Robert loved traveling, fishing, cutting wood, and doing projects in his garage. He also enjoyed mini-biking and four wheeling.
Robert C. Calouette is survived by daughters, Judi Pach of Escanaba, Cindy (Bob) Maatta of Phoenix, Ariz., and Pam St. Ours (Craig Morz) of Seymour, Wis.; daughter-in-law, Betty Calouette of Rapid River; 7 grandchildren, Nichole, Katie, Rob, Steve, Sean, Jenny, and Mike; 6 great-grandchildren; brothers, John (Joan) Calouette of Escanaba, Don (Sharon) Calouette of Gladstone, and Mike Calouette of Kipling; sisters, Bonnie (Wayne) Teal of Bark River, and Joan Stevenson of Gladson; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, Robert was preceded in death by sons, John and Mike; and grandson, Jeff Pach.
A family gathering was held from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m., Saturday, July 15, 2017 at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services celebrating the life of Robert followed at 12 p.m. in the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel with Father Emmett Norden officiating. A luncheon was served afterward in the Anderson Funeral Home fellowship area. Burial took place in the Gardens of Rest Cemetery. The Anderson Funeral Home assisted the Calouette family.
