Rita Mary Barnhill

WAUKESHA, Wis. — Rita Mary Barnhill (nee Getzloff) of Waukesha, Wis., passed away on Monday, May 22, 2017, at Waukesha Memorial Hospital at the age of 82. She was born on Nov. 2, 1934, in Escanaba, the daughter of Arthur and Edna Getzloff.

On June 4, 1960, she married Edgar “Bud” Barnhill in Bark River; he preceded her in death on Jan. 10, 2012. Rita was an avid reader, loved putting jigsaw puzzles together, enjoyed crocheting and was a huge Green Bay Packer fan. Most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She will be sadly missed by her sons, Thomas (Maria) Barnhill of Lake Geneva, Nathan (Suzanne) Barnhill of Pelham, N.H., and Andrew (Kiesa Heckmann) Barnhill of Watertown. She was the proud grandmother of Amanda, Mitchell, Alexander, Bethany, Sonnie, Katie, Michael and Kenda. She is further survived by brothers John (Wanda) Getzloff, Abe (Jill) Getzloff and Glenn (the late Ruth) Getzloff, along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband Edgar and her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Arthur Getzloff.

Visitation will be held on Friday, May 26, from 5 until 8 p.m. at the Randle-Dable-Brisk Funeral Home, 1110 S. Grand Ave., Waukesha, WI 53186. Visitation continues at the funeral home on Saturday, May 27, from 10 a.m. until time of the 11 a.m. funeral service. Burial will follow at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield.
