Richard F. ‘Dick’ LaVigne

GLADSTONE, Mich. — Richard F. “Dick” LaVigne, 83, of Gladstone (formerly of Cary, Ill.) passed away Thursday morning May 18, 2017, at his residence.

Dick was born May 8, 1934, in Powers, Mich., the son of Ernest and Pearl (Revord) LaVigne. He was an Ironworker for C&NW/Union Pacific for 44 years, retiring in 1996. Following retirement, the LaVignes spent the winters in San Antonio, Texas.

Dick married the former Phyllis Quick on Oct. 13, 1956. In addition to his wife of 60 years, survivors include: sons, Mike (Anita) LaVigne of Hoffman Estates, Ill., Pat (Vicki) LaVigne of Belvidere, Ill., Dave (Jana) LaVigne of Montgomery, Ill.; daughter, Marcia Gray of Frisco, Texas; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; sister, Geri McQueen of Merced, Calif.

In addition to his parents, his son, Richard LaVigne Jr, brother, Ernest LaVigne Jr. preceded Dick in death.

According to Dick’s wishes, no services will be held. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Beacon House of Marquette or the Gladstone Senior Center.
