FAIRPORT — Adson “Bill” William Seaman, 77, of Fairport passed away on May 2 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born Feb. 20, 1940, in Escanaba, the son of Nester and Beatrice (Casey) Seaman. Bill was a 1958 graduate of Cooks High School.

Bill was a hardworking man who spent many years commercial fishing and working as an electrician. He was a member of the Electricians Local 948 and a lifetime member of the North American Hunt & Fish Club. He was also a member of the Michigan Fish Producers Association and Garden Historical Society.

He especially enjoyed hunting and ice fishing with his friends, David and Aaron, going to the casino, playing cards with his family and friends, and the many summer road trips across the United States with his wife, Kathy, and their friends, Rose and Walt.

He is survived by his wife, Kathy; children, SheriLynn (Bob) Meyer of Ocala, Fla., Patti Schwandt of Ludington, Larry Lee (Nicky) Barbeau of Garden, Wanda (Brian) Barbeau of Manistique; ­grandchildren Kendra (Adam) Kloss, Brenden Krusinski, Kadi Meyer, Dustin ­Barbeau, James Casey, and Olivia Barbeau; great granddaughter, Evelyn Elizabeth Kloss; sister, ­Patricia ­Rasmussen of ­Garden, brother Duane Seaman of Fayette, and sister-in-laws, Sharon Seaman and Penny ­Morningstar; along with ­several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by his brothers, Wayne and ­Vernon Seaman, sisters, Jill Jensen and Lael Seaman, brother-in-laws, Pete Jensen and Charles Rasmussen.

A Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 5 p.m. from the Messier-Broullire Funeral Home in Garden, Pastor Darryl Pizzala officiating. Visitation will be held prior from 2:30 p.m. until the time of service.

Memorial donations may be directed to the Garden Historical Society of the Big Bay de Noc Scholarship Fund, or Big Bay de Noc Youth Basketball. The Messier-Broullire Funeral Home of Manistique is assisting the family with the arrangements.
