Sharon Lee Clausen

GLADSTONE — Sharon Lee Clausen, born on July 5, 1945 to parents Blaine and Jayne (Cole) Clausen, has taken her gypsy spirit to be with our Lord and savior.

Sharon had a special heart. She always had time for a “quick” cup of coffee and a great listening ear. Sharon was a prayer warrior and had a strong faith in Jesus Christ that got her from day to day throughout her life. She was a member of All Saints Catholic Church in earlier years and attended retreats at Mary Grove and a Koinonia in Marquette with her only daughter Leanne.

Sharon worked several secretarial jobs including General Tire in Brighton, the US Forest Service in Escanaba before retiring from UPCAP services and throughout the years she had done services in dog catching, pizza assembly and even left town with the carnival once. She was also a member of the National Wildlife Federation.

All of us were Blessed to have known her and have her in our lives. Sharon enjoyed dancing, her home cooked meals and cheering on the University of Michigan; Go Blue!

Sharon is survived by her beloved daughter Leanne Marie Clausen and granddaughter Alyssa Marie Drossart; brothers, James (Lena) Clausen of Brighton, Edward Clausen of Ford River, William Clausen, Gerald (Darlene) Clausen both of Gladstone and Steve (Crystal) Clausen of Rapid River; loving sister, Christine (Robert) Hall of Lansing, and Marlene Clausen of McFarland. Many of her favorite family members called her auntie. She had lifetime friends including Rosemary Visel of South Lyon and Jerry Anderson of Gladstone.

Sharon was proceeded in death by her parents, sister Lois Cole, brothers Walter (Gail) Clausen, Douglas Clausen and Larry Clausen.

In her final days at Pinecrest Medical care facility, Sharon stated “everybody has done such a wonderful job here.” Sharon’s family would like to say thank you to the staff with special thanks to nurse Jamie.

The family will receive friends on Monday, February 20 from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Services to celebrate Sharon’s life will be at 5 p.m. with Rev. Fr. Brian Gerber officiating. A luncheon will follow at the Gladstone Senior Center.

In lieu of flowers, donations will support the UMH Transplant Center Kidney/Pancreas Fund. Checks may be made to “University of Michigan” and sent to Medical Development, 1000 Oakbrook, Suite 100, Ann Arbor, MI 48104.
