G. Alan Waugh

HOT SPRINGS, Ark. — G. Alan Waugh, 82, of Hot Springs, Ark. passed away Feb. 15, 2017. He was born in Bakersfield, Calif., to the late George and Louise Waugh.

Alan, by nature, was a curious man. A voracious reader, serious bird watcher, traveler, and card game enthusiast, he never met a stranger. Alan enjoyed listening to people’s stories and always tried to help those in need.

For over 60 years Alan belonged to the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. His career took him to many places and allowed him to work on a variety of projects, such as the Oroville Dam in California, Minuteman Missile Silos, and railroad side dumping cars.

Alan was a lifelong member of the Association for Research and Enlightenment, a nonprofit organization devoted to spiritual development. He was also a longtime member of the Moose Lodge, VFW, and a devoted NCIS fan.

Alan was predeceased by his wife Marilyn Tebear Waugh an Escanaba native, and his son, George Alan Waugh, Jr.

His daughters, Sheryl Yavorski (John) of Escanaba, and Pat Waugh of Sacramento, Calif., survive.

The service will be private.
