Rosella Mary Burnard

GLADSTONE — Rosella Mary Burnard, 95, of Gladstone, passed away peacefully early Sunday morning, Dec. 4, 2016, at Christian Park Village in Escanaba.

Rosella was born Oct. 24, 1921, in Perkins, the daughter of Joseph and Adele (DeGrand) Demeuse. She was also raised and attended school in Perkins. She later married Everett Burnard and together the couple made their home and raised their family in Escanaba. In addition to raising her family, Rosella was employed at Pine Haven Rest Home in Gladstone until her retirement in 1996. Rosella was a member of All Saints Church in Gladstone. She loved to spend time with her family and grandchildren. Her hobbies included baking, knitting and embroidery. Rosella was a kind, loving person who will be missed by many.

Survivors include: daughters, Shirley (Lawrence) Spaulding of Gladstone, Rose Mary Pardee of Gladstone, and Barb (Steve) Larson of Escanaba; and brother, Robert (Vangie) Demeuse of Gladstone. Rosella is also survived by her loving grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Adele; son, James Gerou; daughter, Diane Cole; brothers, Joseph Jr., Norman, George, and Raymond Demeuse; sister, Dorothy Saari; son-in-law, Daniel Pardee; and former husband, Everett Burnard.

Rosella’s family will receive friends on Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Mass of Christian Burial will follow visiting hours at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at All Saints Church in Gladstone with Rev. Fr. Jamie Ziminski officiating. Luncheon will follow in the All Saints Parish Hall. Rosella will be laid to rest in the Gardens of Rest Cemetery in Wells.
