Sharon ‘Midge’ L. (Lewis) Krause

BARK RIVER – Sharon “Midge” L. (Lewis) Krause, 71, of Bark River (Ford River area), passed away on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016, at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, Nov. 10, from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Escanaba. The service will follow at 4 p.m. with Pastor Paul Doletzky officiating. A meal will be provided immediately after the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to the family. A memorial will be decided on at a later date.

The Crawford Funeral Homes are assisting the Krause family.

Sharon ‘Midge’ L. (Lewis) Krause

BARK RIVER – Sharon “Midge” L. (Lewis) Krause, 71, of Bark River (Ford River area), passed away on Saturday, Nov. 5, 2016, at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay.

Sharon, daughter of Llyod and Anna (Martin) Lewis, was born on June 22, 1945, in Detroit. She lived in Detroit until she was 16, and then she relocated to Escanaba. She graduated from Escanaba High School in 1963.

On May 23, 1964, she married Marvin Krause at the Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Escanaba.

Sharon moved to Green Bay for 17 years where she was employed with the Green Bay Head Start Program. She moved back to the Escanaba area and retired from the Escanaba School System in 1993 as a teacher’s aide. In 2003, she moved to the Bark River area.

Sharon was president of the Escanaba School Union for the support staff, a member of Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church, and in her spare time enjoyed camping, playing bingo, four-wheeling, watching sports (especially Michigan sports), and playing keno at the Ford River Pub.

She is survived by her husband, Marvin; children, Elizabeth (Mark) Roberts of Escanaba, Kimberly (Mick) Boutilier of Escanaba, and Marvin (Diane) Krause Jr. of Battle Creek, Mich.; grandchildren, Nicholas, Nolan, Anna, and Brian; stepbrother, Louie Bauman of Petoskey; as well as nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Sandy; and father and mother-in-law, Fred and Bertha Krause.
