Two foosball tables will be available, and each game of foosball requires four people to play. Four people may play cornhole at a time. Games can start at noon, and seating is available.

With the help of sponsors, the Manistique Elks Lodge 632 is bringing people to the marina creating revenue for the community.

“A few of us Elks members got together and partnered with a local business and thought that it would be an interesting event to try,” said Mary Hook, chair of the Hops on the Harbor committee for the Elks and an Elks trustee. “We wanted to have an event to bring business into the community. We hoped that it would generate some revenue for the community as well as the Elks.”

Checker Transport and Radio Results Network organized a round-trip Hops Beer Bus Tour for the festival. The bus starts in Marquette county at 9:15 a.m. and will make stops according to locations in demand. Possible stops include Ishpeming, Negaunee, Marquette, Harvey and Rapid River.

“So as calls come in we will try to accommodate as best as possible,” said Jeff LaValley, sales and operations manager for Checker Transport.

Once the festival concludes, the bus immediately leaves the marina and takes people back to their pick-up locations.

To make a reservation contact Checker Transport by email at reservations@checkertransport.com or phone, 906-226-7772 Ext. 2.

Additional information regarding lodging and transportation in Manistique is included in the Hops on the Harbor website, www.hopsontheharbor.com.

Hook is looking to the future and hoping in five years the festival will have savings to target projects.

“In the future we hope for it to bring in more revenue so that we can do more improvements to our historical building as well as offer other unrestricted grants and scholarships,” said Hook.

“We love to promote Michigan, its breweries, and our community. In the end it is just a fun event and unique to our county,” she added.
