ESCANABA — Traffic on the northbound outside lane of M-35, starting at 500 South Lincoln Road, will be closed to traffic today to repair a water main break. The 2200 block of 3rd Ave South, (from M-35 to South 22nd Street) will also be closed to all traffic at the same time.

Both are expected to re-open by end of business today. The closure is for repairs due to a water main break on M-35.

All residents and business along M-35 from 3rd Ave. South to South 22nd Street will experience a short interruption of their water service as the repair is conducted. Crews will go door to door in order to notify each resident if they will be affected, and leave a door hanger as a means of notification if no one is home.

Once the repair is completed, some nearby residents may experience discolored water. The distribution crew will be flushing the main during this time. Allow some time for the water to clear in the main before attempting to flush the service line .

Motorists should allow extra time if traveling in this area.
